Kumar Sangakkara's Life Story True Gentleman

Kumar Sangakkara is an example for athletes all over the world because of his many skills. In cricket, Sanga set a standard that no one would dare to go against. At the age of 22, Sangakkara made his ODI debut as a wicketkeeper-batsman. He is a humble and down-to-earth person. Kumar Sangakkara was born in Matale on October 27, 1977. His father moved the family to Kandy so that all of the kids could go to school there. In international cricket, wicketkeeper/batsman Kumar Sangakkara is second all-time in terms of runs scored, behind only Sachin Tendulkar. He also holds the record for the most dismissals ever.

Kumar Sangakkara’s International Profession

A year later, at age 22, Sangakkara made his One-Day International and Test debuts after doing well with the bat and the gloves in South Africa. In his first game ever, against Pakistan, he got 35 runs. In the second game he played against South Africa, he got 85 runs and was named the player of the game. Sanga was one of the best batters in the series, scoring 199 runs. He was also chosen to play in the test series against South Africa. In 2001, Sanga scored a century and showed that he was one of the best batters by helping Sri Lanka beat India at home. In the next home series, Sanga scored another hundred against the West Indies. In the final of the Asian Test Championship in 2002, against Pakistan, Kumar Sangakkara got his first double hundred in test cricket. In 2004, Sanga hit another double century. This time, he did it against Zimbabwe and scored more than 250 runs.

Marvan Atapattu was hurt, so Kumar Sangakkara took over as vice captain for the home test and one-day international series against Pakistan in 2006. Sanga and Jayawardene were the first people to be recognised for how long they had been together. He got 287 against South Africa. This was his second hundred in a row. The 624 runs that Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene put together in a test match is the most that has ever been done. The next year, Sangakkara was ranked first in Tests. As a member of the World International XI, Sangakkara played in an ODI series against Australia. In the end, his average was 46. During the attack on Pakistan by terrorists in 2009, he was on a tour team made up of players from the World Test XI. After he hurt his shoulder in an accident, Sangakkara was only the sixth cricketer in history to hit two double centuries in the same year.

After Mahela stepped down as captain, Sangakkara was named the team’s leader for at least the next two years. The ICC T20 World Cup was his first big test as captain, and he led his team all the way to the semi-finals. The Sri Lankan team had been struggling all year, and the next series against India was the last straw. When they won the tri-series and went on tour to Australia, it gave Sanga and his team the confidence boost they needed. India lost to Sri Lanka, so Sri Lanka will play in the ICC World Cup 2011 finals. Sangakkara did well on his own at the 2011 ICC World Cup, where he finished third with 465 runs in nine games. Sanga gave up his roles as captain of the T20I and ODI teams.

After that, in 2011, Sangakkara scored 516 runs in three games against Pakistan. Even though Pakistan won the series, he was named man of the series for his performance. In 2014, Sangakkara scored his first triple century against Bangladesh. In the second innings of that Test, he added another hundred to make an otherwise important Test more beautiful. At Galle in 2014, Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene scored the most runs together at the third wicket. Sri Lanka beat India and won the 2014 ICC T20i World Cup thanks to Sanga’s 51 runs. Sangakkara scored 13,000 runs before the end of 2014, making him the fourth player in ODI history to do so. After the 2015 ICC World Cup, Sangakkara was no longer able to play in One Day Internationals.

He has made 11 double-hundreds in tests, which is second only to Sir Don Bradman. His century in the 2015 ICC World Cup was the fastest ever made by a Sri Lankan player in a World Cup, taking only 70 balls. He also broke a record by being the first player in World Cup history to score four centuries in a row.
